The Kairos app (iOS and Android) configures and controls a Kairos device over Bluetooth. It collects no personal information: no accounts, ads, analytics or crash reporting, and no server of ours that it talks to.

On your phone

The pairing key for your device is stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. It stays on the phone, is not backed up, and is deleted when you forget the device. The app also keeps your settings and downloaded firmware files in its private storage. Uninstalling the app removes them.

Internet use

When you connect to a device, the app checks GitHub for a newer firmware release (at most every 10 minutes) and downloads firmware only if you ask. No information about you or your device is sent. GitHub can see the phone's IP address, as any website can, under its own privacy statement. You can turn the check off under Firmware, Advanced.

Permissions

Bluetooth (iOS) or Nearby devices (Android), to find your Kairos device. The app does not use it for location.
